Spirit is Talking to us All the Time

If this is your first visit to this blog or have not read one of my Spiritual posts before, please read the About George page before continuing. Thank you.

When I write these posts and teach this material I don’t believe for one moment that this makes me anymore special than anyone else.  I believe that Spirit is talking to all of us all of the time.  Its more a question of who listens.  In our society we are not taught how to listen.  I believe in some cultures this ability was taught or at least given equal importance to learning the “outer” message.

I have nothing against science or religion, but both are outer messages to me as is any other teacher teaching messages similar to these.  Indeed, my message is an outer message to you it is only an inner message to me and can only be an inner message to me.  You can only find your inner message by going deep within your consciousness to find it.

I am teaching a third way.  A way that is neither science nor religion but is instead about finding the essence of ourselves, bringing it out and living it each and every day as our truth.  The world has room for this.  Every philosopher who has ever lived has done this.  All religion begins with it – one or more people going deep within to bring out the truth of their existence.

In order to communicate with Spirit we first have to believe that Spirit is there to communicate with us.  If we don’t believe it, the communication cannot take place and we will look upon messages like this with a certain amount of incredulity.  There are countless stories of people who have not believed in this, only to have a life changing experience that has changed their belief completely and from that moment on have communicated.

One problem we have in making inner communication is the extent to which we have studied the outer world.  The more we have listened to messages outside of ourselves and accepted the outer message as truth and assimilated it into our belief system, the harder it is to hear the inner voice or feeling that may contradict that outer truth.  To the point that life changing experience is the only way that the inner message may find its way into our belief structure.

In my experience as I look back upon it now, Spirit has given me nudges throughout my life.  Even from when I was a child, Spirit nudged me in a way that prevented me from becoming overtly influenced by the outer world.  During the time when I wasn’t prepared to live this as my everyday life I kept leaving clues for myself that kept me intimately connected to my inner world.  The most obvious example being Indigo Wholefoods – Indigo is a word with deeply Spiritual connotations.

I believe that in order to communicate with Spirit there are some rules to follow.  Firstly, we must believe in it as described earlier.  Secondly we need to understand our feeling definition of Spirit for me that feeling is joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love.  Thirdly, we need to put ourselves in that place.  Not being in that place will prevent communication with our Spirit.  Fourthly, we need to put ourselves in a setting that allows us to make communication.  For some that is meditation for others it going out and sitting in nature.  For me it is in the morning, shortly after waking up, before I have been subject to the outer messages of the day.  For all I believe it has to be a way of quietening the outer messages and the emotions of the ego – guilt, anger, fear and grief.

There are also some qualities I believe that people who are communicating with Spirit need to refine.  Firstly, we need to understand that this is our truth we are seeking not universal truth.  We have to be able to allow others to find their voice and for their voice to be different.  The Spirit world is big enough and paradoxical enough for all truths to have merit.  Secondly, we need to follow our truth especially when we doubt it.  If we don’t follow it we build up a grief that comes from not being authentic to ourselves which is not a self-loving act.  Thirdly, we need to reject any thought, feeling or belief that would suggest that we are better than another.  That the beliefs or practices of another are wrong and reject absolutely any thought, feeling or belief that we need to prevent another from feeling joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love in order to follow our truth.  These thoughts, feelings and beliefs are the ego getting in the way and and trying to implement its philosophy of separation.

The communication is primarily one of feeling and translating the feeling into words.  Sometimes the message may be a clear word or words popping into our minds, even this is feeling as the translation has just happened instantaneously.  Sometimes the message may appear in things outside of ourselves especially if we are not able to have a feeling communication with Spirit.  The interpretation needs to be ours though not someone elses.  The most important thing is to try and see what happens.  It could change your life.

Grief is the Absence of Joy

If this is your first visit to this blog or have not read one of my Spiritual posts before, please read the About George page before continuing. Thank you.

Grief is different to the other ego emotions as it is not one that the ego has direct control of, but it is still caused by a belief in separation.  Where joy is absent grief must be, whether one is aware of it or not.  Following what makes us joyful and doing this consistently over a long period of time is the remedy for the grief of separation.

Grief is most often associated with the loss of someone close.  The closer they are the greater the sense of loss. The experience of loss pushes joy away with such force that grief hits us very hard and we are overwhelmed by the emotion.  Denying this and pretending that is has not happened delays the onset of grief and can delay or even prevent its dissipation.

There are plenty of articles and books available about grief, the five stages of grief and overcoming loss.  I have nothing to add on these subjects.

I cannot overstate the importance of this.  The ego emotions (guilt, anger fear and grief) are an essential part of the human experience.  When we experience them, either in ourselves or others, we need to respect them, be compassionate for them and find ways to loosen their grip on the consciousness.  Denial is not one of these ways, nor is acting out the emotions.  Understanding them is.  In many ways how we choose to understand them and the narrative we build up around them is less important than the decision to explore the emotion and find a meaning that resonates with us.  The concept of the ego emotions is my means of finding understanding in these emotions.  The only right way to understand them is the way that feels right to us as individuals.  If you have trouble with this there are people who can help, from many different fields of thinking.

Grief is part of the human experience to provide a contextual field within which to learn about the experience of being Spirit (joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love). It is not possible to experience what it is like to be Spirit unless or until we experience its opposite.  As Spirit is the feelings it is the feelings we experience as humans that provide this contextual field.

From the perspective of Spirit grief is unnecessary as Spirit experiences everyone as one.  Spirit knows because it is consciously aware that the person who has just passed is still very much alive in the Spirit world and can communicate with them through feeling.  When loss is not possible, grief is not possible.  We also experience grief if we lose something especially as a child or when it holds specific importance to us.  This is also unnecessary to Spirit as Spirit exists outside of time and space and if that item has existed (in reality or only in imagination) in the past, present or future Spirit is aware of the item now.  Although even this falls shot of an accurate explanation as Spirit does not build that kind of attachment to any material item.

Grief is an essential part of the human experience and should not be denied.  The problems come when grief becomes stuck or we have a long term absence of joy in our lives which causes a build up of grief.  In these circumstances we need to take a positive decision to follow joy.  It begins with making one change.  We may or may not know what that change needs to be, but if not remain patient try to hold joy in your heart and that change will become known when the time is right.  Visualize what it will feel like to have made that change and ask if it improves things.  If it does go for it, if not continue to be patient.

There is just one thing that reading this post requires you to do and that is to consider what you believe about grief and follow the insights gained from your inquiry.  Remember what you have read here is my truth.  Your truth, whether this matches my truth or not, is more important to you than mine.  Revisit this post whenever you think it may be of help.

Peace is the Foundation on which Life is Built

If this is your first visit to this blog or have not read one of my Spiritual posts before, please read the About George page before continuing. Thank you.

War is the most unsettling and disturbing experience we can have as humans.  It is so far removed from our true Spirit state of joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love as to render the poor soul affected by war, in the worst case scenario, incapable of aligning with Spirit, except in the briefest of moments, for the rest of their earth life.

Fortunately most of us incarnating into an earth life at this time don’t have to deal with war.  But this does not make us immune from images of war or indeed failing to live a peaceful life in our own imaginings, home and community.  Living without peace in our lives is like living in an active earthquake zone.  We never know when the earth is going shift beneath our feet and we are going to be plunged into a fight either of our own making, someone elses making or both of our making.

It has been said before and I will say it again because there has never been a truer word spoken – There is no way to peace, peace is the way.  We must first practice peace in our own lives and resist the temptation to fight back if someone should attack us, which will become less and less likely as we continue to practice peace.  Peace is the solid ground on which we can build a life. When we live in peace and have no fear that our peacefulness will be disturbed we go further and achieve more than would be otherwise possible.

Peace cannot be experienced when we are subject to the ego emotions of guilt, anger, fear and grief.  War and all attack of any kind is the acting out of these emotions, usually a combination of three or even all four of them, to try and return us to our peaceful state.  However, this is always fruitless as to respond to anger with anger always produces more anger even if that anger is subdued for a while until such time as it can gain strength and fight again.

There is no way to peace, peace is the way implores us it meet attack in a different way.  Yes in the face of attack we may well experience one or more of the ego emotions, but before responding to the emotion we need to quieten the emotion and consider another way.  By the way, we never actually respond to the attack, we respond to the emotion occurring within us, without the emotion we would never feel the need to return the attack.  In that way each attack is a new attack.

As a first line of defense against issuing an attack in response to the emotion I use the line in my mind “I’ve done nothing wrong and neither has anybody else.”  This immediately neutralizes the emotion and prevents the need for attack in the first instance.  If I continue to be subject to attack I have no choice but to remove myself from the situation and find somewhere safe.  The answer is never to attack back even though this can be very tempting.

From the position of safety I can then process my emotions.  I can consider if the content of the attack had any validity to it at all and if there is anything I can learn from it.  I can consider why the other person felt so angry with me and indeed why I had an ego emotion reaction that I had to quieten.  I talk to myself very gently and with great compassion and I see the other person in that light also.  They are but Spirit struggling to find a way through the overwhelming sea of ego emotions and suffering separation from their true Spirit nature of joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love as am I.

The inevitable question arises of how do we deal with Hitler if we believe this to be true.  To understand Hitler we have to ask the question how did Hitler occur in our experience anyway.  The answer to that is that Hitler was an outcome of karmic ripples (cause and effect) begun many, many years earlier, well before WWI and continued after WWI by responding to Germany from the perspective of ego emotions.  Which is not to imply that Germany were the victim in this, they too responded to attack from the perspective of ego emotions.  The problem is is that we can only control our ego emotions, not anyone elses.  Unfortunately, the opportunity to stop Hitler by peaceful means had passed well before Hitler came into being.  WWII was the karmic consequence of these actions and was therefore unstoppable, once Hitler was active, without surrendering our way of life and freedom.  Subdued attack is not peace.  WWI and WWII were battles of the same larger war as were many conflicts before WWI and after WWII.

In this time of moderate peace we need to remember still that there is no way to peace, peace is the way.  One reason I am a Pro-European is because in time of peace Europe sought to build on that peace and despite all its failings Europe is a safer place because of it.  Even if the EU and common currency should fall in the next few years Europe should remain a peaceful continent because its countries had the courage to act peacefully with each other.

Travelling through Alsace and the Rhine Valley as I have done frequently I am always remained that this within the last century has been one of the most heavily disputed and fought over areas of the world.  Today, less than a hundred years after it was last occupied by invading forces, we can walk across the Franco-German border without a guard or passport booth in site.  How times change and how far we move when we have the courage to act in peace.

Joy is the Guiding Light

If this is your first visit to this blog or have not read one of my Spiritual posts before, please read the About George page before continuing. Thank you.

Joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love is the true nature of Spirit and therefore of us.  As Spirit we experience these feelings as one feeling.  This feeling is simultaneously us and Heaven and God and everything and everyone around us.  As humans we can separate out these feelings and use them independently to help us align ourselves with Spirit.

Whenever we experience joy we align ourselves with Spirit.  There is nothing else we have to do.  Whenever we don’t experience joy we are out of alignment with Spirit.  The challenge posed by life, an experience where it is possible to not experience joy, is to spend as much time experiencing joy as possible.  When we make that our goal we will observe our habits change to bring ourselves into alignment with Spirit.

It is impossible to experience joy if we are struggling with the ego motivated emotions of guilt, anger, fear and grief.  In this truth lies a lot of the misconception about the judgement of God.  If God were reported to have said that “the guilty cannot go to Heaven” we can read into it either a judgement of guilt and being condemned to hell or we could see, as I do, an observation that if we are feeling guilty we will not be able to experience Heaven (or joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love).  The implication being that we need to stop feeling guilty.  Furthermore, as guilt is of the ego and the ego will cease to be when we pass over we will not arrive in Heaven experiencing guilt and Heaven shall be ours.

However, if we wish to experience Heaven on earth and take less karma with us, that we will choose to continue to learn from  (not be punished for), in the next life, we need to learn to relinquish guilt, anger, fear and grief in this life and turn to joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love. Joy is the guiding light on this journey.

We live in a feelings world.  We are defined more by our feelings than what we think or say or do.  It is our feelings that determine how we experience the world.  Our beliefs determine how we feel.  The more beliefs we have that identify guilt, anger, fear and grief the more guilt, anger, fear and grief we will experience both in ourselves and in others around us.  These emotions resist our natural state of joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love and block it from view.  We don’t need beliefs in joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love because it is our natural state.  Without belief in guilt, anger, fear and grief it is what we would experience naturally.  However, a belief in joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love helps to counteract and diminish the power of the ego emotions.

The guiding light out of the darkness of the ego emotions is joy.  Follow joy.  We all know what joy feels like and I would hope that we can all find at least one example of joy in our lives.  If we cant find a current example then hopefully we can find one in our memories.  Having found the example we need to hold onto the feeling, keep coming back to it when we briefly lose sight of it and commit to creating more moments like this in our present and future.  We need to do only what brings us joy and remove those things in our lives that cause us guilt, anger, fear and grief.  It may be as simple as changing a belief or as complex as changing work or moving house, but we can be sure that Spirit will support any action we take in the commitment of following our joy.

This journey which may start as a chink of blue sky on a cloudy day, in time can become a clear blue sky.

Heaven is Right Here

If this is your first visit to this blog or have not read one of my Spiritual posts before, please read the About George page before continuing. Thank you.

Have you taken a look at our beautiful world today?  Have you ever considered why ‘evolution’ has created beautiful green trees, forests, long-sweeping green vistas, mountains, clear blue skies, fluffy white clouds, the northern lights, star-filled night skies or why we have created beautiful city-scapes?

It developed like this because this is what Heaven looks like.  The only difference is is that everything in Heaven is somehow clearer and more defined.  Heaven makes this world seem like the dream world does to us when we look back on our dreams of the night before.  Heaven also has people and animals in it.

When we first arrive in Heaven it is like waking up and thinking back on our dreams of the night before.  Our dreams at the time felt real and reasonable, but when we wake up we look back on them and see the inconsistencies and unreality of them.  The same is true looking back on this life from the perspective of Heaven.  Of the first things we will realize will be that time does not exist and never did. We will be able to relate directly to the fact that only now exists and move from one place to another merely by thought.  Paradoxically, we will still experience things in a linear way as well.  We will be aware that there is no separation between us and there never was.  That we are one body of Spirit, however, paradoxically, we will also recognize ourselves but have less emotional connection to our individual identity as a separate entity. We will become aware of an abiding love that can only be described as being us, we are love, and we always were. The human ego created conditions of guilt, anger, fear and grief have been lifted from us and we become aware of them as the illusion that they always were.

Furthermore, we become aware that like the dream world the world that we currently inhabit is an illusion, it doesn’t exist and it never did.  The only thing that is real is Heaven, the only place that we are is Heaven.  We have a clue to this in the big, bang theory of the creation of the universe.  In order to believe in a real universe we have to believe that in the beginning something was created from nothing.  Even if scientists find something from before the big bang, in order to complete the theory of a temporary universe with a beginning and an end at some point something has to come out of nothing.

The only conclusion that we can reach is that whatever was there was always there and is without beginning and without end. That is Heaven and in that truth our eternal life is confirmed.  We have many choices of what to do with our eternal life, but eternal life we have and what we do with it is ours to decide.  Many will choose to continue experiencing human life separating themselves from the body of Spirit, subjecting ourselves to the influence of the ego and creating a world in which to experience this human life.

In creating it we choose the features that we like in Heaven. Trees, greenery, blue skies, northern lights, star-filled night skies etc. In Heaven if we want to experience a star-filled night sky we just choose it and it is there and in choosing it we wont effect anyone else around us.  We choose the people we want around us, those that will help us to play out the karma that we wish to experience. When we ask another to help us they agree immediately as this is what unconditional love in the knowledge of eternal life would choose to do.

In this knowledge we can change our experience on earth from one of suffering to one of joy, sure in the knowledge that Heaven is right here and Heaven is all there is.

Karma is the Law of Cause and Effect

If this is your first visit to this blog or have not read one of my Spiritual posts before, please read the About George page before continuing. Thank you.

The concept of Karma has managed to get itself tied up in the guilt and judgement drama of the universe.  It has been hijacked by the ego, which does not really exist, to deepen our belief in separation.  The ego tells us that. if by any chance our belief in heaven and reincarnation is true, we can be found guilty and judged for how we have lived our lives in this lifetime and punished in the next accordingly.  This is a waste of a beautiful ancient law that has an impact in our lives everyday.

Karma works on all levels of our multi-dimensional reality.   In day-to-day life it ensures that the world that we are creating as we go along performs in a manner that is not paradoxical. The law of cause and effect means that when we take an action, speak a word, have a thought or feel a feeling the effect of this action, word, thought or feeling will ripple out into our created world without resistance and will keep going until it no longer has any power.  Some actions, words and thoughts have longer effects than others and it is true that some will keep going beyond death.

It means that people or objects don’t disappear in front of our eyes.  It means that if we are going somewhere that place turns up where we expect it to.  Without karma the world we experience on a day-to-day level would behave much more like the dream world we experience when we sleep which is not subject to karma although we may dream in to place some cause and effect.

When we say something or write something those words ripple out through our world creating countless new karmic moments as people hear or read the words and take action, say new words or have a thought or feeling in response to them.  Thoughts and feelings have less outward karmic effect but nevertheless they ripple through our minds and bodies creating physical and non-physical effects.  The stronger the belief in the thought and feeling, the greater the rippling effect will be and it will go on longer.

All illness and disease in the body originates from a thought or a feeling and its healing depends on the thoughts and feelings we have about the illness and disease.  If the thought or feeling is that we cant get better from this and we don’t at some point let go of this thought or feeling then we will not get better.  Even if our thoughts tell us we will get better if those thoughts are not matched by our feelings which are ultimately more important in this respect we may not be able to experience that.  The best thing to do is not to think about the disease at all (except when we are getting treatment for it) nor feel anything about it and continue life to the extent possible as if illness or disease is not there.  In addition to this move oneself in general into alignment with Spirit and away from alignment with the ego (that loves our suffering because it justifies its belief in separation), that is to feel joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love by doing whatever is necessary to feel that.

At the point of death all karma is immediately suspended.  During the early stages of death we will get the chance to look back at our lives and without judgement decide which karmic ripples, which were suspended at the time of death, we would choose to continue learning from in the next life.  These will usually relate to those actions, words, thoughts and feelings that were made from the perspective of the ego, not out of any kind of judgement or punishment  but because those will be the events that Spirit will wish to continue to overcome in order to complete its journey of learning about itself in its experience.  The more we learn to quieten the ego (guilt, anger, fear and grief) and align ourselves with Spirit (joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love) in this life, the less we will choose to overcome in the next life.

It also important to understand that the events we choose to overcome in the next life may not just be times when we have done ‘bad’ things and it may not be necessary to overcome all ‘bad’ things anyway if the karmic ripple from the event has died out during this lifetime.  They may also be times when we have made a judgement about something usually in fear or anger and held to the belief that led to that judgement throughout our lives, which for clarity and without any sense of judgement, is likely to include those times when we have felt ourselves to be a victim and we have not overcome that feeling during our lifetime.

The best way to overcome our karmic load is to align with Spirit (joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love) and move away from ego motivated feelings (guilt, anger, fear and grief).

There is no Judgement in Heaven

If this is your first visit to this blog or have not read one of my Spiritual posts before, please read the About George page before continuing. Thank you.

We have built a judicial system of judgement and punishment.  It is a system that is inspired by a religious belief in a judgmental and vengeful God who will send souls to heaven or hell based on their actions on earth.  If we believe that we are born in the image and likeness of God and we believe in a judgmental vengeful God then it would be a natural progression to sit in judgement of our fellow human beings.

I am not about to question the value of a judicial system in our society, clearly there are some people who if allowed to be on the streets would jeopardize the full experience of life in others.  However, I do wonder if we hadn’t built our experience around the belief in a judgmental vengeful God and a belief in crime (sin) whether a judicial system would be needed at all.

We are taught by religion that when we arrive in heaven we are met at the gates and all our actions are taken into account to decide whether we go to heaven or hell and then having been judged we spend the rest of eternity living out this judgement.

This is not my experience of Spirit.  It is true to say that if we are feeling guilty we cannot experience heaven, but as the feeling of guilt is a product of the ego and dies with the ego at the time of death.  No one, regardless of what they have done, would arrive in heaven anything less than innocent.  Judgement therefore is not needed in heaven.

The Spirit is by its nature guiltless.  The nature of Spirit is joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love as is the nature of heaven as Spirit and heaven are one.  Guilt is only experienced by the ego.  It would therefore be true to say that as we are born in the image and likeness of God (Spirit) then we by our nature are not judgmental. If we learnt to see ourselves and others as guiltless it is hard to imagine how a judicial system and for that matter the crime it seeks to punish would have been created.

Furthermore, the act of judgement has other undesired outcomes.  As Spirit we are all one, there is no one that is not part of us therefore what we do to another we do to ourselves.  If we judge another we judge ourselves.  We would judge ourselves as guilty as the person we are judging of the thing we think they have done.  In this action we perpetuate the separation of ourselves from our true nature of joy, happiness, peace and unconditional love as only the ego can be guilty.

A belief in crime creates crime and it will appear in our experience either perpetrated by ourselves or by others.  We do not end crime in our experience by judging the criminal and wishing punishment on them whether that be another or ourselves, we perpetuate it.  We end crime in our experience by beginning the process of learning to stop believing in crime.  When crime turns up in our experience we need to remind ourselves that we and all others are guiltless Spirit and we are loved unconditionally by Spirit.

In time we will stop experiencing crime in our experience and the experience of a judicial system will become unnecessary.

Update

When I wrote this post I shied away from using the words “a belief in sin creates sin” as I felt that sin was too large and too subjective in the understanding of what sin means.  There are very few people who would consider wearing clothes of more than one fibre to be sinful and most of us dont consider homosexuality to be sinful for example.  But then as I was walking this morning the thought came into my head that that is the very definition of “a belief in sin creates sin”.  That when we believe that homosexuality is a sin for example we become aware of its presence and by virtue of that belief it promotes an ego motivated emotion (guilt, anger, fear or grief).  When we no longer hold to the belief, it no longer has the power to promote that ego motivated emotion and is therefore not created as sin in our experience.  Feeling is the point of creation.  We create the world we experience by the beliefs we hold about it.
